The article examines the history and characteristics of commemorative coins dedicated to the Olympic Games. It presents in detail the commemorative coins of the 2008 Beijing, 2012 London, 2016 Rio de Janeiro, and 2020 (2021) Tokyo Olympics. The author describes the coins’ design, metal composition, denominations, and issue quantities. Particular attention is paid to the depiction of Olympic symbols and emblems. The article notes that China issued 29 types of commemorative coins for the Beijing Olympics, the United Kingdom issued 50-pence coins for various sports, Brazil issued 37 types of coins, and Japan issued 37 types, including coins dedicated to the Paralympic Games. The study represents an important source for studying numismatics and the history of the Olympic movement.
